These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Catena mobile application ("App") operated by Julienne Studios LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

Catena is a free productivity application designed for personal, non-commercial use by students. You may use the App for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the App or its content
Use the App for any unlawful or harmful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our systems
Impersonate another user or person

2. Accounts

You may use the App without an account, but some features (syncing, friends) require registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including illustrations, icons, code, copy, and design — is the property of Julienne Studios LLC or its contributors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from the App without our written permission.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create in the App (study notes, session names, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content for the purpose of providing the service. We will not use your personal content for marketing or share it with third parties.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are a student project and cannot guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. Use the App at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Julienne Studios LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Changes to the App and Terms

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We'll notify users of material changes through the App or by email where possible.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved under US law.
