Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using Catena, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms include an agreement to resolve disputes through binding arbitration, and a waiver of class actions, in Section 11 (Disclaimers, Liability, and Disputes). You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating your account — see “30-Day Right to Opt Out of Arbitration” in Section 11.

8. User Content and Community Safety

Your public profile name, username and bio, group names and descriptions, room and guest names, and uploaded group photos are User Content. You retain ownership and are responsible for what you submit and for having the rights to share it.

By submitting User Content, you permit us to host, process and display it as needed to operate the Service and enforce these rules. Sharing candidate content with Google's safety services requires the separate agreement described below. Deletion and limited retention of safety records are explained in our Privacy Policy.

What is not allowed

  • Pornography, explicit sexual content, sexual exploitation, or sexual content involving minors.
  • Threats, harassment, bullying, hateful or discriminatory attacks, or encouragement of violence or self-harm.
  • Graphic violence, gore, cruelty, or sexually provocative imagery unsuitable for this study community.
  • Targeted obscene abuse, impersonation, scams, spam, or attempts to evade safety restrictions.
  • Someone else's private information without permission, or content that infringes their rights.

We consider context. A person's legitimate name, a book title or a good-faith educational discussion is not automatically a violation because it contains a word with another meaning.

Safety checks before sharing

Before sending candidate public text to Google Cloud Natural Language or group photos to Google Cloud Vision, we explain the check and ask for your agreement. Declining cancels that submission. These checks assess potentially abusive or sexual text and adult, violent or sexually suggestive images. Private timer notes and contacts are not sent to these checks.

Content held by a safety check is not published through that submission. An unavailable check may require you to retry. Automated checks can make mistakes and do not detect every violation. Passing a check does not exempt content from these rules.

Reports, blocking and appeals

Use Report on a profile or Report group content in a group's controls to report a concern privately. Use Block user on another person's profile to restrict contact. You may also contact team@juliennestudios.com. Include the affected account or group and, for a held submission, its review reference. Do not send passwords or payment details.

We review safety reports and may withhold or remove violating content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts. To ask us to reconsider a decision, email the address above with relevant context. Reports and retained evidence are accessible to authorized support operators, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Feedback and suggestions may be used to improve Catena without compensation to you.
